Just Another Typical Winter Day

When you look out the window and see no sunshine, but you do see gray skies and a few snowflakes falling you know it is still winter. The icicle hanging from the carriage house roof is another very good indication as well. N.O.A.A. had the overnight prognostication about right. We had no precipitation, but the clouds moved in quite handily, and the temperature was not far from zero.
For today N.O.A.A., with their graphical forecast maps, shows light snow moving in from west to east, and right now we are having some of that light snow. The temperature is supposed to get into the mid-twenties, and the cloud cover forecast to be in the mid to upper 80% range.
This morning my Weather Stick points slightly up. If you believed in weather sticks you would suggest that would be a portent of fair weather. If you did not you could say that the relative humidity is slightly lower than usual. I would say that the latter is true. My Weather Station Console and Min/Max Thermometer forecast partly cloudy skies today while the remote weather station indicates cloudy conditions. They all forecast falling barometric pressure. Looking out my window I see the snow increasing in intensity, so I am going to suggest that we are going to have some inclement weather with snow at least for a while. This may wind up being a surprise for the weather prognosticators at N.O.A.A. and the rest of us.
