The Cold Clouds Moved Out, But The Cold Stayed

The Clouds Of This Morning Went Away
The sky cleared, and we actually warmed up to the mid twenties this afternoon. It is almost time to break out the Bermuda shorts and tee shirts again. Just kidding because we are headed back to the below zero readings again this evening. N.O.A.A. did get the predominant weather correct, although the cloud cover did not get as high as they said it would. I am still not convinced that we will be without precipitation by morning.
For the overnight N.O.A.A. sees snow north and south of us, but no precipitation here. Temperatures are forecast to dip into the mid-single numbers, but we have already exceeded that. They also peg the cloud cover in the upper 80% range, but we are still well below that.
My weather stick still responds to the 61% relative humidity and points slightly up. There is little agreement among my electronic instruments. The Weather Station Console forecasts falling barometric pressure with foul weather. The Min/Max Thermometer forecasts partly cloudy skies with rising barometric pressure. Finally the remote weather station forecasts foul weather with falling barometric pressure. Whom can you believe? I still think we will have some precipitation overnight, especially since there is some precipitation showing up on the NEXRAD composite radar. The Weather Underground forecast maps also show some potential precipitation for our area. There is not much and the bulk of the storm is expected to stay offshore.
