At 30°F, It Feels Positively Balmy

The temperature did go below freezing last night, but only a little bit. It definitely was not as treacherous to walk on the driveway as it was yesterday morning. In fact, I was comfortable taking Bart for his morning exercise with just my shirt and regular (not lined) jeans on. That is a major change in our weather. N.O.A.A. predicted no rain for the overnight and they were right. The cloud cover seems to be somewhat heavier than they predicted though, and the temperature did not go as low as they predicted. I think this was a pretty good night. I emptied the ashes from my Outdoor Wood Boiler yesterday, and I stoked the firebox very full. I may not need to add wood until late Tuesday or early Wednesday. I am pleased with that too.
For today, N.O.A.A. forecasts temperatures in the low forties, cloud cover increasing (22%/40%/57%/69%0 throughout the day and no precipitation. The NEXRAD composite radar sees some precipitation in central and southern New York, but it appears to be moving away from us. The Weather Underground model forecast maps do not show any foul weather headed our way for the immediate future. The photo of this morning's sunrise show that the overcast that was present at 05:00 is dissipating, but the red sky this morning may be the harbinger of some foul weather in our near future, no matter whet N.O.A.A. predicts.

Another Impressive Sunrise Over Wilton Maine
My Weather Stick points straight out responding to the 64% relative humidity. The three electronic instruments still cannot agree on a forecast. The Weather Station Console forecasts partly cloudy skies with a rising barometer. The Min/Max Thermometer forecasts fair skies with a rising barometer. The remote weather station forecasts partly cloudy skies with steady barometric pressure. I would suggest that we will see moderate temperatures again today, with partly cloudy skies and light winds. I think it will be a good day to get outside and finish splitting the wood I cut yesterday. By the way, how does everyone like the early switch to daylight saving time? My computer still has not acclimated to that, and made the switch. Neither has my Weather Station Console made that change. I think the best thing would be to eliminate Daylight Saving Time altogether.

Comparative data for the overnight.
Temperature: 37°F/35.7°F//30°F/33.6°F//26°F/32.1°F//23°F/31.8°F
Relative Humidity: 50%/59%//60%/60%//65%/57%//77%/59%.

The temperature did not fall as fast as N.O.A.A. predicted, nor did it fall as far, therefore they only get a fair rating for that part of the forecast. The relative humidity forecast was right only at 22:00 hours; therefore, they get a poor rating for that part of the forecast.
Forecast data for today.
Temperature: 22°F/35°F/42°F/43°F
Relative Humidity: 81%/56%/46%/41%
