Cirrus Clouds And A Red Sky At Dawning
The sun rose this morning making the cirrus clouds a brilliant red. Both of these indicators can be harbingers of foul weather afoot. The sky was mostly cloudy, which was a greater cloud cover than N.O.A.A. predicted last night. They seem to have gotten the predicted temperature very close to the recorded temperature for a change. The winds have been light and variable all night. In fact most of the overnight they remained calm.
For today, N.O.A.A. predicted no precipitation until 16:00 hours after which we could expect scattered light mixed precipitation. (It did not happen)
My Weather Stick is responding to the 73% relative humidity by pointing straight out from my carriage house wall. All three of the electronic instruments forecast fair skies with improving barometric pressure. I checked my snow gauge and the ground is visible in a six inches circle around it. There is still some snow on the ground, but it seems to be disappearing quickly. All the snow is off the roof of my house and barn, and soon the animals are going to be demanding to be allowed outside to find some fresh grass. It may be a while before they can get to fresh grass though.

This report is a bit late because my ISP is currently (11:13) out of service. I will upload as soon as they come back on line. I do not have the current forecast data yet either.
