The Fog Creeps In On Little Cat Feet

Sometimes it leaves and sometimes it doesn't. (Robert Frost, I Think) N.O.A.A. did predict some snow overnight and we did get some, but it is not enough to do anything about. The temperature is already above freezing and I would expect the snow to be gone by nightfall. With the warm air on the cold snow and the high relative humidity it is no wonder that we have a thick fog this morning.

The Fog Returns After The Snow
After the fog burns off, which N.O.A.A. expects to occur before 10:00 hours, they expect no further precipitation, clearing skies (7%/40%/10%/10%) and warming temperatures. They predict 47°F for the high, and I would not be surprised to see it break 59°F by this afternoon.
My Weather Stick is trying to make the circle toward the ground, and with 89% relative humidity who can blame it. My Weather Station Console and remote weather station forecast rising barometric pressure and fair skies. The Min/Max Thermometer forecasts partly cloudy skies with rising barometric pressure. I think that the fog will burn off, the skies clear and the temperatures warm up to delightful levels. This should be an excellent day to visit a maple sugaring operation. This is, after all, Maine Maple Sunday, a sure sign of spring.

Comparative data for the overnight.
Temperature: 38°F/39.3°F//33°F/33.8°F//29°F/32.5°F//26°F/30.0°F
Relative Humidity: 44%/51%//58%/75%//72%/83%//81%/85%.

N.O.A.A. was within 5° of the target with the temperature for the overnight. The only relative humidity forecast for the overnight that was accurate was at 04:00 hours this morning. The rest of them were over 5% outside the actual recorded reading. It seems the relative humidity moved in a bit faster than they expected..
Forecast data for today.

Relative Humidity: 78%/46%/38%/37%

The fog comes
on little cat feet.

It sits looking
over harbor and city
on silent haunches
and then moves on.
