The Weather Is Deteriorating.

Those clouds that moved in yesterday are currently producing rain instead of the forecast ice and snow. From the appearance of the vehicles in the dooryard and the ground, the precipitation started very recently. It does not appear that N.O.A.A. had the predominant weather correct for the overnight. I guess I had the dubious honor of being almost right, since we do not yet have any freezing precipitation. I did not have a start time specified, but it started later than I thought it would also.
For today, N.O.A.A. predicts rain all day, with temperatures that will not make it out of the thirties and cloud cover at 100% all day. The NEXRAD radar shows some precipitation moving toward us, and we seem to be on the line between liquid and frozen stuff. The Weather Underground model forecast maps do not show this system moving out of here until sometime later tomorrow.
My Weather Stick points slightly up, and the relative humidity, at 81%, is the suspect cause. The electronic instruments all forecast falling barometric pressure, and with the low-pressure system moving into the area, that is no surprise. They do not seem to be able to agree on the weather type however. The Weather Station Console forecasts partly cloudy skies, the Min/Max Thermometer forecasts foul weather and the remote weather station forecasts overcast conditions. Right now, it is raining, and I think that will continue today. I also think it will depend on your elevation whether you continue with the rain or have it change to freezing precipitation, be that snow, sleet or freezing rain. This should be an interesting day.

N.O.A.A. was within 5° of the target with the temperature for the overnight. They only missed the relative humidity forecast at 20:00 hours and 23:00 hours overnight. Oh well, half a loaf better than none.
