With the exception of the occasional cloud passing over dropping a few snow flurries on us this was a pleasant day. The wind had a bit of a bite to it making it very pleasant to stay inside most of the time, but when the wind was calm it was good to be outside. N.O.A.A. seems to have hit the mark since we had light scattered snow showers passing through the area all day. There was no measurable accumulation of snow though.
For the overnight N.O.A.A. is still predicting light scattered snow showers for our area here in Wilton Maine and north into the Western Maine Mountains. South of us it appears will be free of the showers. The cloud cover supports that (81%/75%/68%/67) as does the forecast temperature. There is no precipitation showing on the NEXRAD radar, but the Weather Underground model forecast maps do indicate some precipitation swirling in on the upper level low-pressure system that has been controlling our weather since the storm on Wednesday.
My Weather Stick points up based on the 57% relative humidity. Two of my electronic instruments forecast partly cloudy skies with falling barometric pressure just as they did this morning. The remote weather station forecasts foul weather with steady or slightly increasing barometric pressure. With the flurries that have been around today I would suggest that they will continue overnight, and maybe, just maybe, we will see some slightly better weather tomorrow. We can live in hope.
