Already The Snow Is Melting Quickly

N.O.A.A. forecast snow for the overnight, but that did not happen. By 03:00 hours the snow had stopped falling leaving us with 11 inches of new snow. This morning by sunrise at 06:01 hours the temperature had already risen to 31°F, and it has continued to rise from there. The snow pack is dropping off quickly, as is evidenced by the 0.12 inches of melt shown by the rain gauge.

In Three and a Half Hours The Amount Has Dropped 1 Inch
For today N.O.A.A. predicts light scattered snow showers for our area, but we are right on the edge of the snow/no precipitation line. The temperature forecast does not support the forecast of snow, but would support rain, and the cloud cover is forecast to dissipate somewhat (76%/71%/65%/65%). Right now there is very little wind, but even if there were more it could not move this snow because of the high water content.
My Weather Stick caught up with the high relative humidity of last night, but has not yet caught up with the 61% relative humidity that should have it straight out. It may take a while, but it will get there. Two of my electronic instruments forecast rain and falling barometric pressure. The remote weather station forecasts clouds and steady barometric pressure. The snow is getting ready to fall off the roof of the carriage house again, and the temperature continues to climb. My best guess is that we will have partly cloudy skies, and they will continue to improve during the day. Here is a nasty rumor for your consideration, N.O.A.A. is predicting another major Coastal Storm (Nor'easter) for Sunday into next week after it stalls off the coast of Southern New England. ENJOY!

The N.O.A.A. forecast for temperature improved as the night wore on. By the end if the overnight the reality and the forecast data were about equal. They started out in error. The relative humidity was correctly forecast at 23:00 hours only. Nice try folks, but you missed that forecast by quite a bit.
Forecast data for today.
Temperature: 34°F/42°F/46°F/46°F
Relative Humidity: 65%/46%/40%/39%
