As I stated over the weekend, "The longer it takes to get here, the longer it will stay." It is doing exactly that. N.O.A.A. predicted a wintry mix for today, but what we got was rain, and in a little over 24 hours, we have had 3.82 inches of rain, plus the 2 inches of snow that were on the ground this morning when I checked the snow gauge. By the way, those two inches are gone, and we are back to bare ground around the snow gauge.
The rain seems to be changing over to a wintry mix at this hour (21:30 hours), and both the temperature (in the low thirties) and the cloud cover (100% all night) forecasts support that possibility. At least that is what N.O.A.A. is predicting for the overnight. It is a close call, and will depend on how close the temperature stays to the freezing mark. We are just going to have to wait and see about this one.
My Weather Stick (surprise, surprise) points down indicating 91% relative humidity. I wish I had a picture of this one. It is really bent around very nearly into a circle. Pardon the pun, but the electronic instruments are mixed up. They all predict increasing barometric pressure. The Weather Station calls for partly cloudy skies. The Min/Max Thermometer forecasts fair skies, and the remote weather station forecasts foul weather. Since I have a choice, I pick foul weather, because that is what we are having.
