Here We Go Again!
Yes, it is raining again. We are now approaching an inch and a half of recorded rain since the fourteenth of this month. I just cannot seem to catch a break in the weather to get my outside chores done, like tilling the garden and mowing the lawn. Things need to dry out a bit before I can get it done. N.O.A.A. did get the overnight weather about right since the light rain started around 07:30 hours this morning. It has continued into the time I am doing this report. Just to note, I have not filled my outdoor wood boiler for eight days, but I will do so today.
N.O.A.A. has forecast light rain for the first three hour period of today followed by steadier and heavier rain for the rest of the daylight hours. They foresee the temperature hitting a high of 50°F, and the cloud cover increasing from 81% to 95% (81%/86%/90%/95%). The relative humidity falling from 86% to 61% will still have the air feeling cold and raw. All in all N.O.A.A.'s prediction does not appear to be any more pleasant than it has been since Tuesday.
My Weather Stick is getting stuck in the down position with the high relative humidity we have been having. All three of the electronic instruments have lost their marbles. They are predicting fair skies with increasing barometric pressure. The increasing barometric pressure is a fact, but the skies are not clearing, and the rain is continuing to fall on the landscape. All of these instruments use barometric pressure as the major factor in their forecasts, but they cannot see the sky or feel the rain, even though they do record or at least sense the relative humidity. My own feeling is that based on what I see outside, and the data from the instruments we will continue to have some precipitation today since the NEXRAD radar is showing this system as coming inland a bit farther than the Weather Underground model forecast maps were showing last night. I have just had a report that we are currently having sleet mixed with the rain.

N.O..A.A. did well to predict the temperature for the overnight as closely as they did. Once again they did get the relative humidity moving in the right direction, they just did not get the actual numbers within 5% of the recorded readings.
