Well, There Has Been some Improvement
N.O.A.A. did have the overnight predominant weather correct. We did have a bit more rain, and the temperature did not change very much at all. When I first looked out the character of the clouds was still like a sheet over the sky (stratus), but now it is much more like stratocumulus. It is still overcast, but there seems to be more light between the clouds.
For today, there was a general prediction for more light scattered showers, and as I rode up to Newport, Maine from Wilton we did go through some of them. The cloud cover has remained quite heavy dropping from 98% to 91% and predicted to fall from there to 84%, then to rise to 88% by evening. The temperature is already well above the prediction of a high of 55 degrees. There is some precipitation well west of us, but due to the cyclonic circulation it seems to be moving away from as and dissipating. It is about time.
My Weather Stick still points down, but that should not be a surprise. Two of the electronic instruments predict foul weather, and the three of them indicate that the barometric pressure is falling. The remote weather station forecasts clouds only, and that seems to be what we are having. One of the three of them seems to get it right when there is disagreement. The model forecast maps indicate we have one more day of this kind of weather before it all breaks up and moves out of here. I may actually get done what I want to next week, even to the planting of my garden. We can live in hope.

N.O..A.A. did not do very well predicting the temperature overnight, at least at the beginning of the period. The rest of them were within the 5 degree limit that I set. Parts of the overnight were close with the relative humidity and parts were not. You can draw your own conclusions.
Forecast data for today.
