Is The Weather Going Downhill?
Clouds are moving in, although we have not had any precipitation overnight, as N.O.A.A. suggested. The temperature did fall a bit farther than it was predicted to, but only by about 5 degrees. At this time last year we had almost 6 inches of rain, and to date we have had less than half of that. Of course that will change today if the predictions are correct.
For today N.O.A.A. predicts that we will start out dry, but we will have light scattered showers through the mid-afternoon and rain by this evening. The cloud cover surely supports that (63%/71%/79%/86%). Temperatures are expected to rise into the mid to upper seventies, and the wind is not expected to be a factor. At this point (07:15 hours) there is nothing showing up on the NEXRAD radar, and the Weather Underground model forecast maps indicate that the precipitation will not begin until around noontime.
My Weather Stick points straight out, and with 87% relative humidity that is no surprise. The Weather Station forecasts fair skies with rising barometric pressure. The Min/Max Thermometer forecasts a mix of fair and cloudy skies with falling barometric pressure. Finally, the remote weather station indicates that we will also have the mix of fair and cloudy skies, but the barometric pressure will remain high. With all this disagreement among the electronic instruments I will suggest that we will see the weather deteriorate as the day goes on, and the seed that gets planted today will get some water to get it germinating. Remember, "It is an old New England Custom to grow a garden."

N.O.A.A. only missed the temperature forecast by six degrees after the 20:00 hour point, which they had correct within limits. They had the same point correct within limits for the relative humidity, and then missed the rest by a significant margin.
