Cool, With Pea Soup Fog

Well, N.O.A.A. certainly got this one right. I cannot see to my neighbor's driveway this morning because of the fog. Everything is wet as a result of this fog. The temperature has cooled down as a result of the minimal cloud cover which resulted in radiational cooling overnight.
For today, N.O.A.A. predicts no precipitation with very low cloud cover (61%/14%/12%/11%), and I can believe that. The temperatures are expected to be mild, into the mid-seventies with moderate relative humidity. This should be a great day for the start of the Trek Across Maine. I would be riding again if the American Lung Association had not taken a stand against Outdoor Wood Boilers. I like reducing greenhouse gasses, and they do that. I also like saving money and they do that. I also like reducing dependence on foreign oil, and they do that. Outdoor Wood Boilers are environmentally neutral, and I like that too. They use a renewable resource.
My Weather Stick points down. I guess it has caught up with the 89% relative humidity. My electronic instruments still have no reached a consensus in their forecasts. All three of them are forecasting falling barometric pressure. My Weather Station predicts partly cloudy skies, the Min/Max Thermometer forecasts foul weather and the remote weather station indicates cloudy skies. I think I will stand with what I see outside this morning. After the fog burns off we will find clear skies, moderate temperatures and relative humidity. This should be a great day for outdoor activities of all kinds.

Comparative data for the overnight.
Temperature:60°F/64.4°F//61°F/50.1°F//46°F/44.9°F/449°F/43.9°F
Relative Humidity: 55%/60%//79%/82%//92%/87%//100%/89%.

N.O.A.A. missed the recorded temperature for the 11:00 point, and that was probably due to radiational cooling. It does appear that they also got the relative humidity correct, although I show a slightly lower number for the 05:00 hour point. This was not very bad on their part.
Forecast data for today.
Temperature: 57°F/70°F/76°F/74°F
Relative Humidity: 72%/45%/37%/43%

Mr. Le Doux, you need to get your facts straight. We are not agaist burning wood or outdoor wood boilers. This is clear from the information on our website and our testimony on LD 1824 this year. We are opposed to someone with an outdoor wood boiler that is responsible for driving their neighbor out of their home because of how the OWB is designed, operated, located or some combination of all three. The vast majority of OWB owners are responsible wood burners and are causing no problems. The vast majority of dealers are also responsible about selling and siting the OWBs.
