Definitely Unsettled
Right now the sun is shining, but there is a significant cloud cover. N.O.A.A. called for light scattered showers overnight, but here at my location in Wilton, Maine we did not have any. The cloud cover appears to have remained quite high in keeping with that forecast. We did have a heavy dew however, so the grass is quite wet.
For today N.O.A.A. forecasts light scattered showers again. With the cloud cover forecast (72%/77%/82%/81%) that is not out of the question. The cloud type (nimbostratus) also indicates that we may see some rain before it clears. The NEXRAD radar currently only shows showers at the Crown of Maine, but they seem to be moving south. Looking at the Weather Underground model forecast maps this instability will continue thought tomorrow, and the start of the workweek will bring clear weather. That is a surprise.
My Weather Stick points up in response to the 65% relative humidity. From the look of the sky it certainly is not because there is a prediction of fair weather. My three electronic instruments are in total disarray. The Weather Station forecasts a mix of sun and cloudy skies with rising barometric pressure. The Min/Max Thermometer forecasts continued foul weather with falling barometric pressure. The remote weather station forecasts foul weather with steady barometric pressure. I am going to stick with my prediction in the title and call for unsettled weather with scattered showers and periods of sunshine. That is what I have seen since 05:00, and I expect it to continue for the rest of the weekend. My garden needs the rain, so I am not disappointed.
