No Severe Weather Here!

N.O.A.A. predicted severe weather for Maine north of Augusta, and we here in Wilton, Maine had clear or nearly clear skies all afternoon. When the temperature was at its highest the relative humidity was so low that the heat index could not be calculated. The relative humidity needs to be above 40% to calculate the heat index. That really does not matter, because my lawn is mowed. It still needs to be re-mowed at least twice more before it will pass muster. At least the first mowing is done.
For tonight N.O.A.A. predicts no precipitation for the first half of the period. For the second half they are predicting haze. I am not quite sure what that is, since it is not fog. They are predicting a relative humidity of 100%, so maybe it is a combination of the relative humidity and particulate matter suspended in the are. The NEXRAD radar shows a couple cells at the very top of Maine, and nothing moving our way. The Weather Underground model forecast maps show some activity late tomorrow afternoon, and that may be significant. We do need the rain. I know I have been saying that for the last several days. I did look at my peppers
and cauliflower, and they seem to be doing well. Right now the things that need to germinate have not, I suspect due to the dry weather.
My Weather Stick is smiling again with the low (73%) relative humidity. My electronic instruments do not agree at all. My weather Station forecasts partly cloudy skies with falling barometric pressure. The Min/Max thermometer forecasts fair skies with rising barometric pressure. The remote weather station forecasts clouds with steady barometric pressure. Since there is so much disagreement among the instruments I would suggest an unsettled night, but no precipitation.

Comparative data for today.

Relative Humidity: 84%/79%//53%/51%//42%/40%/44%/31%.

N.O.A.A. did all right forecasting the temperature, since the two that they missed were only missed by a couple of degrees. The
only point they missed with the relative humidity was the 17:00 hour point, and that was significant.
Forecast data for the overnight.
