Severe Weather In Our Future?
Overnight we had no precipitation, and N.O.A,.A. had that part right. I did not see the forecast haze at 05:00 hours this morning, as the photo below shows. Except for some cirrus clouds the air was clear. It was humid (80%), but not hazy. With a low temperature only in the low to mid-sixties it was not the most comfortable night for sleeping. Just think, in only about 8 weeks we will be thinking about frost. Summer is here, at least for the next couple of days. We will soon know if the photo actually portends severe weather in our future.

A Portent Of Foul Weather? Maybe.
N.O.A.A. forecasts light scattered showers for our area of Wilton, Maine for this morning. They are forecasting severe weather for this afternoon. They did that yesterday too, and it did not happen here. We will see if they do better today with their forecast. The predicted cloud cover does not really support the prediction of severe weather (24%/35%/46%/58%). I would expect that to result in partly to mostly cloudy skies. The NEXRAD composite radar shows a thin line of showers at the New York/Canadian border moving in our direction along with a couple cells at the crown of Maine. The Weather Underground model forecast maps show the probability of foul weather late this afternoon extending into early tomorrow morning. That seems plausible.
My Weather Stick is expressionless (points straight out) in response to the 80% relative humidity. It is straight, in my opinion, because the relative humidity is going down, at least according to my weather station. All three of my electronic instruments currently forecast falling barometric pressure. They do not agree as to the weather. My Weather Station forecasts partly cloudy skies, my Min/Max Thermometer forecasts foul weather and the remote weather station forecasts cloudy conditions for the next 12 hours. I tank we will have some scattered thunderstorms this afternoon. The conditions just seem to be right for that to happen. Whether you get one or not will just depend on your location.

N.O.A.A. was a little off at 23:00 hours with the temperature, but the rest of the forecast points were good. With the exception of
the 20:00 hours point they missed all the relative humidity points for the overnight. Nice try folks, but maybe you can do better
today.
