The Shower Was Short And did Not Produce Much Rain.
For all of N.O.A.A.'s prognostication of severe weather this morning, it turned out to be virtually nothing. Four hundredths of an inch of rain was hardly enough to wet the ground let alone give the plants a good drink. There is some corn up, some peas are up, and I have even seen a couple of beans up. I am not sure, but there may even be some lettuce up. I am going for a bicycle ride tomorrow morning, and I guess I will need to water when I get home. I am riding in the MS-150, and I had best get some training done or it will be a very painful hundred and fifty miles in two days.
For the overnight N.O.A.A. predicts no precipitation, and the cloud cover is forecast to decrease (36%/40%/23%/21%). There do not appear to be any showers or storms moving in our direction on the NEXRAD radar, and the Weather Underground model forecast maps do not show any problems until Saturday evening. The forecast for the next couple of days seems to indicate that we will have clear cool weather which should be a pleasant change from the head and humidity we have been experiencing.
My Weather Stick is smiling again, and with 60% relative humidity who can blame it. The temperature has fallen into the mid-sixties already, and appears to be headed lower still. Two of my electronic weather instruments currently forecast a mix of clouds and fair skies and all three of them forecast rising barometric pressure. The remote weather station forecasts cloudy conditions. I think the skies will gradually clear, the temperatures fall and the humidity will be low enough to be a very comfortable night. I think we can enjoy this one.

N.O.A.A. was a little off at 23:00 hours with the temperature, but the rest of the forecast points were good. With the exception of the 23:00 hours point they missed all the relative humidity points for today. Nice try folks, but maybe you can do better tonight.
