A Great Morning With Thundershowers This Afternoon

The N.W.S. had the day half right. We had no precipitation this morning, but we did have three thunderstorms this afternoon. I was outside splitting and cutting wood or there would have been some pictures of the puffy cumulonimbus clouds in this evening's report. Once again it has cooled off, with the temperature in the low fifties. Radiational cooling has kicked in again.
For the overnight N.O.A.A. predicts no precipitation and the cloud cover dissipating (56%/15%/28%/40%) early and then clouds filtering in toward morning. The NEXRAD radar shows no precipitation near us or moving in our direction. The Weather Underground forecast maps are showing some potential precipitation late tomorrow afternoon, into the evening.
My Weather Stick is frowning in response to the 89% humidity, and I am too because that makes things uncomfortable. The electronic instruments are once again in total disagreement. The Weather Station forecasts fair skies with rising barometric pressure. The Min/Max Thermometer forecasts falling barometric pressure with foul weather. Finally, the remote weather station indicates rising barometric pressure with clouds. The weather may be a bit unsettled, but I do not think we will have any rain, but the cloudy conditions will persist. It still should be a good night.

The N.W.S. missed half of the temperature readings. The ones they had correct were in the middle of the day. They did not get a single relative humidity reading correct for today. Once again Mother Nature wins over the prognosticators with all their education and instrumentation. One day I need to go to Gray, Maine and see the station, so I can understand a bit better their capabilities, and what the instrumentation will do.
Forecast data for today.
Temperature: 69°F/57°F/54°F/52°F
