Good Night/Great Day

The temperature still drops into the upper forties to low fifties overnight, and that makes it very comfortable for sleeping. We did not have any rain in Wilton, Maine overnight, and that fits with the N.W.S. forecast for the predominant weather. It is still rather humid, but with the lower temperatures it is not uncomfortable. The sun is currently shining, even though there are some cirrocumulus clouds around.
For today the N.W.S. forecasts no precipitation, although the cloud cover is expected to increase during the day (10%/24%/38%/40%). That increase should hardly be noticeable. The NEXRAD radar does not show any precipitation near us. There is a line of showers well south of us, but that does not appear to be moving in our direction at all. It appears to be associated with the front that moved through on Sunday afternoon. The Weather Underground model forecast maps indicate that we will have a good day today for working outside.
My Weather Stick is frowning, and at this point I can only suggest that last evening's reading was the result of a rapid change in the relative humidity. Two of the three electronic instruments indicate fair weather with rising barometric pressure. The remote weather station forecasts cloudy conditions with steady barometric pressure at about 29.94 in Hg. I would suggest that we will see some occasional clouds, no rain and warm temperatures. This should be a good beach day or day for getting things done outside. If you are on vacation this week it looks like you picked a winner.

N.O.A.A. did get the temperature forecast correct overnight within limits. They only missed the 23:00 hour point with the relative humidity. This was not a bad showing.
