The sun was out all day, the temperature reached into the low eighties, and it was very pleasant. We decided to take a road trip, just to look at the scenery. N.O.A.A. had the predominant weather correct, in that we had no precipitation, and by my estimate their forecast for the cloud cover was about right. We had a very pleasant trip through the area around Mt. Washington and the Presidential range, as well as portions of Western Maine.
For tonight the N.W.S. forecasts no precipitation with some increase in cloud cover (14%/20%/27%/56%) through the period. The NEXRAD radar shows a significant amount of precipitation moving slowly in our direction, but it is not an imminent threat. The Weather Underground model forecast maps indicate a clear night, but not as nice a day for tomorrow.
My Weather Stick is smirking again in response to the 85% relative humidity. I am not sure that I believe that, but it may be true. I would expect more of a frown at that level, but it may be just changing from a lower to a higher level of relative humidity. Currently it is mostly cloudy, with cirrus clouds. Two of my electronic instruments forecast fair skies with rising barometric pressure, while the remote weather station forecasts clouds with steady barometric pressure. From the look of my instrumentation and the model forecast maps, as well as the NEXRAD radar I think we will see clouds increase overnight, but no precipitation and temperatures in the moderate range.
