The Rain Stopped, The Clouds Persist.
Overnight the N.W.S. forecast no rain for the first quarter and light scattered showers for the rest of the night, but they missed the mark on that. We had no additional rain overnight. Clouds appear to have moved back in, but they may just be the remnants of yesterday's storms. I am just as well pleased to see them go. We have had enough rain to make the weeds grow well to take over our gardens.
For today N.O.A.A. forecasts no rain with the cloud cover increasing through the mid-afternoon, and falling again by evening (42%/44%/48%/40%). The NEXRAD radar still does not show any precipitation west of us, and the Weather Underground model forecast maps indicate that we will have a nice day today and into tomorrow.
My Weather Stick is still responding to the 92% relative humidity by frowning deeply. Two of my electronic instruments are calling for a mix of fair skies and cloudy conditions for today with the barometric pressure rising. The remote weather station sees us having cloudy conditions in Wilton, Maine with steady barometric pressure. It does look like the clouds are beginning to break up and move out of the area. I would suggest that we will see continued unsettled conditions, but we may not see any foul weather during the day today.
