The End Of July On A Good Note.

We have had quite a mix today. It started sunny, we had a mix of cloudy conditions, and even the briefest of showers today. The N.W.S. had it about right since they called for no precipitation this morning through noon, and scattered light precipitation for the afternoon. The showers were so light here in Wilton, Maine that it was possible to count the drops of water on the windshield as one drove through it.
For the overnight the N.W.S. forecasts us to have no measurable precipitation, but we may see some fog from 02:00 hours until sometime after dawn. The cloud cover prediction supports the idea of no precipitation (27%/19%/10%/13%). You cannot have precipitation without clouds, at least that has been my experience. The NEXRAD radar does not show any storms close to us, but there are a couple of pop-up showers near the coast. The Weather Underground model forecast maps indicate that we should have a clear night and decent day tomorrow in terms of precipitation. It will be the start of a new month, so we will see what happens.
My Weather Stick seems to point slightly up with 83% relative humidity lately. My Weather Station has changed its forecast to foul weather with falling barometric pressure. The Min/Max Thermometer still feels that we will have a mix of cloudy and fair skies with rising barometric pressure. Finally, the remote weather station forecasts clouds still with steady barometric pressure. I think we are still in for some unsettled weather. We may not have any precipitation, but as unstable as things are there is the chance of the odd shower passing through. How is that for hedging my bets.

As close as N.O.A.A. was with the temperature and relative humidity overnight they were off during the day today. As I
have said before Kudos when they are right, demerits when they are wrong. They get the demerits tonight.
