05:00 Hour Sunrise, And It Is A Red Sky!

We are now moving into the back half of summer. At 05:00 hours the sun is just starting to creep over the hill to our east.

Mid-summer Sunrise
We had no precipitation last night, and no fog this morning. N.O.A.A. had our area of Wilton, Maine on the edge of both, so we could have had them, but we did not. The temperature dipped into the mid-fifties overnight, and that made it comfortable for sleeping. It was a nice change from the heat and humidity we have been having lately.
For today, the N.W.S. forecasts no precipitation, and the forecast cloud cover supports that idea (10%/17%/25%/28%). There is no precipitation on the NEXRAD composite radar, either locally or regionally. The Weather Underground model forecast maps showed the possibility of some scattered showers very early this morning, but they did not materialize. The rest of the day appears to be clear of precipitation.
My Weather Stick is frowning as a result of the 92% relative humidity. My Weather Station forecasts rain and falling barometric pressure. The Min/Max Thermometer forecasts rising barometric pressure with mixed conditions. Finally, that old standby, the remote weather station forecasts clouds with rising barometric pressure. One of these days they will all look at the same data and come up with the same forecast. For today I suggest that we will see the sun for most of the day, the temperature will rise into the upper eighties, and it will be humid. It will be a good day, just not a great one.

N.O.A.A. did forecast the temperature as closely as I have seen them overnight. The relative humidity was a different story. The only point they had correct was at 05:00 hours this morning. They get kudos for the temperature and demerits for the relative humidity. As noted below, they are trying again today, and sometimes they are very trying.
Forecast data for today.
Temperature: 65°F/79°F/85°F/83°F
Relative Humidity: 75%/45%/36%/41%
