Surprise, Surprise, Did Any One Forecast Showers
I was 13 logs away from having all my wood cut to length for splitting when the sky clouded over and we had a short thunder shower. That was around 15:00 hours. I stopped work, went inside and it stopped raining. Around 17:30 I went back outside, cut another five logs and the clouds came back, and they started to rain on me again. I did say we would see some clouds, I just did not see the rain. Obviously N.O.A.A. did not see it either. There was not enough to measure, but it did leave spots on the driveway and the vehicles. To our east during the latter shower there was a faint rainbow, and it is pictured here.

A Very Faint Rainbow For a Very Weak Shower
For the overnight the N.W.S is currently forecasting scattered light showers, and the cloud cover forecast indicates that it will support that forecast (59%/74%/86%/90%). Be prepared to get wet in at least some areas of Wilton, Maine. There are some showers showing up on the Portland/Gray radar in our area. The NEXRAD radar indicates that we may be in for a bit more rain tomorrow morning. The Weather Underground model forecast maps indicate the same scenario. We shall find out soon enough.
My Weather Stick is frowning a little, an indication of the 86% relative humidity. The electronic instruments are quite confused, or at least they do not agree. My Weather Station forecasts a mix of fair and cloudy skies with falling barometric pressure. My Min/Max Thermometer forecasts fair skies with rising barometric pressure. The remote weather station forecasts cloudy skies with falling barometric pressure. How is that for confusion? My guess remains, be prepared to get wet overnight, and maybe into the noontime hours tomorrow. Oh well, I guess we need the rain anyway.

The N.W.S had the temperature correct for all four periods today. The only relative humidity forecast point they had correct was at 08:00 hours this morning. They still do not seem to be able to accurately forecast the relative humidity. I guess they need a new target or someone else to throw the coins to see what they can forecast for the humidity.
