Rainy Start/Sunny Finish

It was just before 07:00 hours that I posted this morning's report. It was at that time that the rain was beginning to be recorded by my weather station. The N.W.S. had the predominant weather correct, right down to when we could expect the rain to stop. The Weather Underground model forecast maps were a little off with their timing. This afternoon I watched some cumulonimbus clouds bubble up, and I was concerned that we might have a thunder shower. The showers moved off to our east and south. In fact my wife told me that she went through quite a shower on her way home from Augusta, Maine, while we had nothing here in this area of Wilton, Maine.
For the overnight N.O.A.A. forecasts some light scattered showers to start tapering to no precipitation for the rest of the night. The showers appear to have moved through according to the NEXRAD and local radar. The Weather Underground model forecast maps also suggest that we will not see any rain overnight or tomorrow, but Wednesday may be a different matter. We shall see. The cloud cover is already down below he forecast (22%/21%/13%/10%).
My Weather Stick is smiling at the 64% relative humidity, and so am I. My electronic instruments do not seem to be as happy. My Weather Station calls for a mix of fair and cloudy weather with rising barometric pressure. My Min/Max Thermometer forecasts foul weather with falling barometric pressure. The remote weather station forecasts clouds (big surprise there) with rising barometric pressure (and that is a surprise). With all that I feel like the student of Confucius who learned that a man with one watch always knows what time it is, but a man with two watches is never quite sure. The relative humidity is down, and the sky is nearly clear, so I think we will have a cool night with pleasant relative humidity and clear skies. All in all it should be a good night for sleeping.
Comparative data for today.
High Temperature (°F): 82.9
Current Temperature (°F): 61.5
Relative Humidity (%): 64%
Dew Point (°F): 42.2
Heat Index (°F): N/A
Barometric Pressure (in Hg): 29.77
Wind Direction: Calm
Wind Speed (mph): 0.0
Wind-Chill (°F): N/A
Precipitation (Type): Showers
Amount (Inches): 0.12
Cloud Cover (PM): Mostly Fair
Cloud Type: Cumulus
Weather Stick: Up
Temperature:66°F/64.5°F//76°F/71.4°F//80°F/81.1°F//78°F/79.5°F
Relative Humidity: 73%/91%//50%/85%//41%/70%//42%/54%

The N.W.S had the temperature correct for all four of the periods today. They missed all four of the forecast points for
the relative humidity. The best they can muster for today is fifty percent of the reading. Not good at all.
Forecast data for the overnight.
Temperature: 73°F/59°F/54°F/52°F
Relative Humidity: 57%/75%/80%/83%
