More Showers Overnight, And Now Fog!
N.O.A.A. had the predominant weather correct, as we had some more rain overnight. When I first checked my outdoor data the sky was partly cloudy, and the visibility was excellent. Since then there has been some fog creeping in, but that now seems to be burning off.
For today according to their graphical forecasts we can expect no precipitation through around noontime. The second half of the day is a question mark, although the text forecast is calling for a chance of showers. The cloud cover forecast would support some showers this afternoon (44%/63%/82%/74%). The Weather Underground model forecast maps indicate a very slight chance of some clouds and precipitation around noon, and nothing much after that. Right now the N.W.S. radar out of Gray is showing some echoes moving east south of Portland, Maine, but nothing here in Wilton.
My Weather Stick is frowning strongly as a result of the 91% relative humidity, and it is making me frown too. My electronic instruments seem to be in total disagreement again. My Weather Station forecasts partly cloudy conditions with rising barometric pressure. My Min/Max thermometer has the situation as rain with falling barometric pressure. Finally, my remote weather station calls for clouds with steady barometric pressure. The sensors for these instruments are all within a hundred feet or so of one another. We wonder why the N.W.S. has problems predicting the weather. My guess, based on what I see, is that we will see some clouds, and due to atmospheric instability could see a shower this afternoon, but I think they will be widely scattered. We shall see.

The N.W.S had the temperature correct for all four forecast points overnight. The only point they missed for the relative humidity was at 23:00 last night. Of the two parameters they only missed one point out of eight. This is a much better showing than they have been having.
Forecast data for today.
