It was very pleasant working outside today. I split another 50 logs and cut a dozen more preparatory to splitting. I have 22 more to cut, and then split them all. If the weather holds I should finish this load tomorrow. N.O.A.A. had the predominant weather correct, as we had no rain. I have no accurate way to measure it, but I think there was more cloud cover than they forecast.
For the overnight the N.W.S. forecasts no precipitation and decreasing cloud cover (21%/13%/4%/4%). There is quite a bit of precipitation south of New York City, but it seems to have run into a wall, and will not make it up here to Wilton, Maine. The Weather Underground model forecast maps seem to indicate the possibility of some showers tomorrow afternoon, but it may just be some cloudy conditions. Tomorrow will be here soon enough with the proof.
My Weather Stick is smiling just a little, and the cause is the 69% relative humidity. All three of the electronic instruments forecast rising barometric pressure. Two of them forecast fair skies while the remote weather station forecasts a mix of fair and cloudy conditions. It is going to get cool tonight, so you might want to close down a few of the windows, at least part way. There is some concern about frost, but I think those areas that are prone to it should take precautions. If you do not usually have an early frost I do not think you need to worry tonight. Good Luck!

The N.W.S forecast the temperature correctly for all but the 08:00 forecast point today. They correctly predicted the first and last relative humidity readings, but were substantially off for the middle part of the day. I guess their models are not well tuned to the reality of the relative humidity, and sometime they miss some of the temperature readings as well.
