It did not get cold enough here in Wilton, Maine to produce frost, but that would not have happened anyway, since we now have a thick ground fog. That fog began to develop at 05:00, and has gotten thicker as time marched on. N.O.A.A. predicted fog west of us, but not here, so they missed the last prediction of the predominant weather. The sky has remained clear though allowing for considerable radiational cooling, hence the temperatures around 40°F.
For today the N.W.S. forecasts no precipitation, but the cloud cover is expected to increase somewhat through the day (0%/15%/29%/22%), and then fall toward the end of the day. The current Portland/Gray radar is showing a bit of ground clutter, and that only in the immediate Portland, Maine area. The Weather Underground model forecast maps show any storms moving off to our south, and Maine staying in the clear for today. I like that.
My Weather Stick is frowning, and with the fog, and 88% relative humidity I am frowning too. All three of my electronic instruments are calling for fair skies and rising barometric pressure. I like that, too. My suggestion is that we will have another very pleasant day. I do intend to finish that load of wood today, and that will be a job well finished. I have plenty of other tasks to keep me busy for the rest of this week, until the predicted rain arrives toward the end of it.

The N.W.S forecast the temperature correctly for all four of the forecast points overnight. They did not do as well with the relative humidity missing all but the 05:00 forecast point. The relative humidity continues to escape them on a regular basis.
