As I finished mowing my lawn at about 16:30 hours I felt just a few drops of precipitation. No, I was not standing under the weeping willow trees. I still need to mow around the garden and the other side of the driveway, but that can wait until the foul weather ends. I spent the morning getting the lawnmower fixed, but it worked like a charm today. I guess that few drops of rain that I felt constitute a light scattered shower making the N.W.S. prediction correct. The cloud cover remained at the predicted level of 85% or more all day, so they got that one right also.
For tonight the forecast from the N.W.S. is for light scattered showers for the entire period with the cloud cover increasing from 94% to 96% to 99% and remaining there until dawn, at least. There is precipitation moving toward us on the NEXRAD radar, and according to the Weather Underground model forecast maps should arrive here around midnight tonight.
My Weather Stick is still frowning slightly at the 78% relative humidity. All three of my electronic instruments are forecasting falling barometric pressure. My Weather Station forecasts rain in our near future. The other two forecast a mix of cloudy and clear skies, or maybe just partly cloudy skies. The other term I have seen used is fluctuating weather. Maybe that is better, or unsettled would be best. My guess is that we will have rain by morning, but the temperature will not fall very far because we have the blanket of clouds, and a warm front is moving in bringing this weather.

The N.W.S had the forecast temperature within five degrees of the actual temperature in Wilton, Maine for all of the four periods. They missed all but the 14:00 hour point for the relative humidity. The relative humidity still eludes the prognosticators at the N.W.S.
