Clouds And Showers Today

This was a good day to start on file rebuilding. There was the constant threat of showers, but any rain that did fall was too light to measure until just a few minutes ago. This will be recorded in tomorrow morning's report. It was also a good morning to sleep in, and I did exactly that. Since we did not have any measurable rain today I cannot in good conscience say that N.O.A.A. got the predominant weather correct. The cloud cover was about where they said it would be.
For the overnight the N.W.S. is again calling for light scattered showers, and we are having one right now. The NEXRAD regional radar shows a shower right over Wilton, Maine, and we are having it. The Weather Underground model forecast maps still indicate that the rain will not abate until sometime tomorrow afternoon, if then.
My Weather Stick is frowning a little this evening, and that in response to the 82% relative humidity. I know my shirt is wet from the warmer temperatures and higher relative humidity. My electronic instruments are calling for falling barometric pressure, and indeed it has fallen since this morning. Two of them are calling for foul weather, while the remote weather station forecasts cloudy conditions. Oh well, as I have said before, we cannot have rain with out clouds, and it is raining. I think we will see the showers continue overnight. They may be scattered, and I did hear the rumble of thunder just before the rain started, so thunder showers are not out of the question.

The N.W.S had the forecast temperature within five degrees of the actual temperature in Wilton, Maine for the first, third and fourth period. They missed the 11:00 hour point. They only got the first and last points correct for the relative humidity. No comment.
