The Hay Is In The Barn!!

In the preparation for winter one of the first signs that we are ready is the hay stored in the barn. That is now a fact.

The Hay Is In The Barn For The Winter The next major hurdle is to get the wood stacked for easy access, and we are working on that.

Starting A Shaker Circle (Right Side) Today was an excellent day to get the hay in, and so I did. Late this afternoon we did have some cirrus clouds move in over us. The
temperature struggled to get into the seventies, and it dropped off quickly. N.O.A.A. was correct in their estimation of no precipitation, but their
estimate of the cloud cover was a little low.
For the overnight the N.W.S. forecasts no precipitation for the first half of the period with some heavy fog into the morning hours. That fog is
supposed to obscure the sky by a significant amount as noted in the cloud cover forecast (0%/37%/73%/94%. If the fog is going to be that
heavy it would be a good idea to leave for work a little early in the morning. There still is nothing much showing up on the Weather Underground
model forecast maps for the overnight. Tomorrow afternoon may be a different situation.
My Weather Stick is neither smiling nor frowning in response to the 70% relative humidity. Further my electronic instruments are all calling for
fair weather with rising barometric pressure. I like the sound of that. I can foresee a relatively pleasant night, but there may well be some fog
in the morning. I will also accept the N.W.S. forecast for that.

The N.W.S had the forecast temperature within five degrees of the actual temperature in Wilton, Maine for all of the four forecast periods
today. They missed all four of the relative humidity readings by more than 5%. Quite simply they thought the relative humidity was going to
be higher during the morning and lower during the afternoon. They were wrong on both counts.
Forecast data for the overnight.
Temperature: 57°F/44°F/42°F/40°F
Relative Humidity: 47%/86%/82%/100%
