An Overcast And Cool Day

I did get outside and get to work on the wood again. More than half of what was to be split is done, and there are about 50 pieces yet to split. N.O.A.A. predicted light scattered showers for our area of Wilton, Maine, but we had none. There may have been showers elsewhere, but it was only humid here. There were plenty of clouds around, so I would not be surprised to find that some showers occurred, they just did not occur here. I have a note of sadness here. Our English Setter Bartholomew B. Beau, a good friend for the last 8 years passed away today as a result of recurring bladder stones and kidney failure. This is indeed a sad day for he really was too young to die, and he really could talk to us.
He will be greatly missed. Farewell Bart!

Farewell Old Friend
For tonight the N.W.S. expects the light scattered showers to continue and with a cloud cover near 90 to 100% that is a real possibility (89%/94%/100%/99%). The regional radar shows a large number of light showers all over the area. The Weather Underground model forecast
maps show scattered showers lasting right into tomorrow.
My weather Stick is frowning again, guess why. All three of the electronic instruments expect the barometric pressure to fall. Two of the instruments call for fluctuating weather conditions while the Min/Max thermometer calls for foul weather. I would not be surprised to see some rain before morning, and probably more tomorrow. Oh well, the days cannot all be beautiful.

The N.W.S had the forecast temperature within five degrees of the actual temperature in Wilton, Maine for all four of the periods today. They did not do as well with the relative humidity. In fact the only point they forecast correctly was at 17:00 this afternoon. Oh well, sometimes you win, and you know the rest. Today they were rained out.
