The Rain Continues Unabated.
We have had rain all day. I did duck (pardon the pun) out and split a few pieces of wood today when it was not raining as hard. N.O.A.A. does appear to have gotten the predominant weather correct today. We have had precipitation and overcast all day. Not only that, but the temperature had to struggle to reach a high of only sixty degrees. Do you think Autumn is on its way?
For the overnight the N.W.S; says it will continue to rain, and indeed a few minutes ago (02:00) when I stepped outside it was indeed raining still. According to the NEXRAD radar there is still some precipitation that needs to get through here before this storm is over. The Weather Underground model forecast maps indicate the same situation.
My Weather Stick continues to frown, and with 93% relative humidity on my weather station, who can blame it. All three of the electronic instruments are forecasting falling barometric pressure and foul weather. I will agree with them, calling for falling barometric pressure, very little change in temperature, nearly complete cloud cover (100%/100%/100%/88%) and continued precipitation.

The N.W.S had the forecast temperature within five degrees of the actual temperature in Wilton, Maine for all four of the periods today. The relative humidity was just plain wrong. Someone did not press the right buttons I would suspect, and they had 0% across the board.
Forecast data for the overnight.
Temperature: 57°F/58°F/55°F/53°F
Relative Humidity: 0%/100%/100%/93%
It is pretty obvious that someone did hit the wrong button when putting the data in this morning, and for the first data point for this evening. 100% would be reasonable for that first point, particularly since it is raining.
