Fog, As Thick As Pea Soup

This is our seventh foggy morning. With ten more days to go in this month, if we have no more foggy mornings, does that mean we will have at least seven "significant" snowstorms this winter? I do not know, I just keep the records. It does appear that N.O.A.A. had the predominant weather correct, since we got up to very thick fog this morning. The fog is thick enough that it is not really possible to see the cloud cover, so I have made my best guess at that. The temperature did not go below 50°F overnight, and it is already on the rise (06:45).
For today, the temperature is supposed to reach the upper seventies, but the cloud cover is expected to increase all day (31%/35%/37%/41%). There is not supposed to be any precipitation, except for this early morning fog. It looks like I will have a good day to continue the wood splitting party. Sir Isaac should enjoy being outside today as well. Currently he is curled up at my feet, asleep. This is a good thing. I look forward to training him as a field dog, and working with him next season.
My Weather Stick continues to frown when the relative humidity is at 90%, and a deep frown it is. My electronic weather instruments all contend that the barometric pressure is going to fall today. Two of them forecast foul weather, while the remote weather station only sees a mix of sun and clouds. The echoes showing up on the NEXRAD regional radar appear to be ground clutter, and there appears to be a fog bank sitting off shore on the Weather Underground model forecast map. With all the information at hand, I suspect that we will see a mix of sun and clouds today with pleasant temperatures. Just the sort of day we need to finish splitting the wood from the last load.

The temperature did not cool down as quickly or as far as N.O.A.A. predicted. They were close with the temperatures for the early evening, but missed the early morning temperatures by a significant amount. They did get the relative humidity correct for the middle of the overnight, but missed the forecast for the two ends of the period. As usual during these transitional times of year they have difficulty forecasting these two parameters.
Forecast data for today.
Temperature: 48°F/69°F/78°F/76°F
Relative Humidity: 96%/49%/37%/46%
