We Continue To Have Late Summer Days.

N.O.A.A. forecast no precipitation today, and very low cloud cover. By the end of the day I did see some cirrus clouds moving in, but I do not believe the cover exceeded the forecast 15%. I did have some errands to run that took me to Augusta and Skowhegan, Maine, so I was not able to finish the wood splitting as I had hoped. Oh well, it is not going anywhere, and tomorrow is another day.
For the overnight, the N.W.S. forecasts no precipitation for the first half and fog for the second. As I came home from Skowhegan at around 20:00 hours there were some patches of light fog that I passed through. The NEXRAD radar is clear, and the Weather Underground model forecast maps do not show any storms moving in our direction for the present. There appears to be very little overcast predicted with 16% being the number for the entire night.
My weather stick is frowning again as a result of the 86% relative humidity. It seems to frown a lot. The electronic instruments are all calling for mixed conditions with falling barometric pressure. I cannot disagree with that, although I do not think we will see any precipitation other than some fog out of this change in air masses.

The N,W.S. forecast the temperature for the middle of the day correctly, but missed the two ends. They did the same with the relative humidity. Someday I would still like to find out just how they do their prognostication, and then I might have a better understanding of why they have the forecast incorrect as often as they do.
Forecast data for the overnight. today.
Temperature: 61°F/53°F/50°F/47°F
