Looks Like Another Fine Day In Store!
N.O.A.A. had forecast fog overnight, but by the time I woke up either it had dissipated or we did not have as thick a blanket as they predicted here in Wilton, Maine. The temperature did fall to about the levels they suggested it would, and it is rebounding quickly. Once again, this seems to be the start of another summer day. I need to get this done so I can get some grain from my supplier, since I am going to be away at the end of this week. I feel very lucky to have someone to cover my farm chores when I need to be away like this.
For today, the N.W.S. forecasts no precipitation and cloud cover gradually increasing (17%/22%/26%/30%). The NEXRAD regional radar shows some echoes associated with a front north of Lake Erie, but it does not look like they will get here any time soon. The Weather Underground model forecast maps indicate that there may be some rain moving through Maine late Wednesday into Thursday, and that should bring us some significant rainfall.
My Weather Stick still frowns at 87% relative humidity. The electronic instruments seem to be in disagreement as to the forecast. My Weather Station indicates mixed sky conditions with falling barometric pressure. My Min/Max Thermometer forecasts foul weather with falling barometric pressure. Finally, the remote weather station forecasts cloudy conditions, also with falling barometric pressure. It appears that a low pressure system is moving in, but it does not appear to have any more that cirrus clouds associated with it. They can portend foul weather in the relatively near future though, and tomorrow Wednesday) would be close enough. I think we will make it through today without precipitation, so I should be able to finish or nearly finish my wood. Tomorrow is questionable.

The N,W.S. forecast the temperature correctly for today. They only forecast the 11:00 hour period correctly for the relative humidity. In this case a miss is as good as a mile. With all the data that is submitted by the CWOP observers, as well as their own stations I cannot understand the problem they have forecasting these parameters.
