We had no precipitation during the day and the cloud cover has increased at about the level that N.O.A.A. said it would. We continue to experience summertime temperatures, but with the lower humidity it has been delightful to be outside. This may change tomorrow.
The forecast by the N.W.S. is for clouds to increase (42%/55%/27%/44%) overnight, and fog to creep in for the last half of the period. I checked the NEXRAD Radar and there is still some rain north of Lake Erie, and now there is some south of that lake also. It all seems to be moving in our direction, but very slowly. The Weather Underground model forecast maps indicate that we should remain clear of storms overnight, but by tomorrow afternoon we appear to be in for some rain, and that is expected to last into Thursday. I hope the ferry to Vinylhaven will be running despite the weather.
My Weather Stick is responding to the 67% relative humidity by pointing up. That is a switch. All three of the electronic instruments forecast falling barometric pressure, and indeed it has fallen. Two of the instruments forecast foul weather overnight. The remote weather station forecasts cloudy conditions overnight. We may well have some fog overnight, and I would not look for one of the greatest days tomorrow. I am down to 50 pieces of wood to split, so maybe I will get it done before it begins to rain tomorrow afternoon. I can only try.
