I know it is almost unbelievable, but N.O.A.A. only missed the cloud cover for this morning at 05:00 hours. When I stepped out to check the conditions the sky was clear rather than a 60+ percent cloud cover. Right now I see one cloud to our west, and that certainly does not cover 60% of the sky. Once again we can hear those frosty bullets whizzing by our ears as we dodge another frosty morning. I have heard a weather prognosticator say that if we do not have a frost tonight we may well be frost free for another week. That is incredible.
For today the N.W.S. forecasts no precipitation (there may be some light scattered mixed precipitation a little north of us late this afternoon) for Wilton, Maine and the cloud cover forecast (35%/21%/37%/21%) seems to support that. There is no activity on the NEXRAD regional radar. The Weather Underground model forecast maps show the skies as clear during the day, not only today, but also tomorrow. Even Thursday looks very clear on those maps.
My Weather Stick is still expressionless due to the 74% relative humidity. All three of my electronic instruments forecast rising barometric pressure. The only one that is not forecasting fair skies is the remote weather station, and it is forecasting cloudy conditions. My feeling is that we are going to have another delightful day with temperatures at or just below sixty degrees, light winds and a few clouds.
