Once It Starts To Rain, Does It Know When To Stop?
Our low temperature occurred at 20:00 hours last evening. We have had foul weather, essentially, since yesterday morning. The sky currently (06:50 hours) seems to be brightening, but it may just be looking for another place to rain. It does seem that N.O.A.A. had the predominant weather correct, and we now have had an additional 0.33 inches of rain. The sky is still overcast, but it does not seem to be raining as hard as it was earlier. (I do not see the rain pouring off the roof now,)
For today, the N.W.S. forecasts light scattered showers all day with cloud cover to match (100%/85%/80%/79%). The NEXRAD regional radar indicates that the bulk of the rain is beginning to move off to our east. Even the Weather Underground model forecast maps show the bulk of the storm gone by noon, light scattered precipitation for the afternoon and clear skies for tomorrow. At least that is the way I read them.
My Weather Stick continues to show its dependence on the relative humidity by frowning deeply at 91% relative humidity. All three of my electronic weather instruments are calling for rain with falling barometric pressure. I am not sure if we have reached the lowest point in this system, but the pressure on my Weather Station console is now up 0.03 in. Hg from its initial reading this morning. I think the foul weather is about over for this system, and we can expect to see some slight clearing of the sky as the clouds move off to our east. This will not be a pretty day, but it will be better than yesterday.

The N,W.S. forecast the temperature correctly for the 23:00 hour and 05:00 hour forecast points overnight. The only relative humidity point they had correct was at 20:00 hours. I understand that it is more difficult to forecast these parameters during the spring and fall, when they change as quickly and as drastically as they do, but this is ridiculous.
Forecast data for today.
