Looks Like We Are In For A Blow!
Right now (06:30 hours) it is as dark as the inside of a pocket outside. Yesterday I took the photo of the pink clouds to the west at this time. The clouds have thickened and lowered overnight. Looking toward the west, if it were light enough, I would expect to see a rain shield, but it is not light enough. Vehicles moving along route 133 still have their headlights on. N.O.A.A. does not seem to have gotten the predominant weather correct. We did not have any precipitation overnight, but we did not have the predicted fog for the second half of the period. They did predict the continued increase in the cloud cover overnight.
For today there seems to be a problem with the graphical forecast report from the N.W.S. According to the graphics we will have no precipitation early and light rain for the middle of the day. Nothing shows on the graphic for the period from 14:00 hours to 20:00 hours. The NEXRAD regional radar does say otherwise. It shows a substantial amount of precipitation moving in our direction up the coast. The Weather Underground model forecast map has been tracking this storm for several days, and it is now saying that we can expect to see some significant rain between now and the time it ends sometime tomorrow morning.
My Weather Stick currently is straight, and I suspect that is due to some rapid changes in the relative humidity. I just checked, and my suspicion is incorrect. I cannot find a reason for it to be straight out, other than the fact that we are in for some unsettled weather. My electronic instruments all say we are in for some foul weather with falling barometric pressure. The red sky that you see below is the harbinger of some foul weather as well.

The N,W.S. forecast the temperature correctly for all but the 23:00 hour point. They missed the first three relative humidity points. Once again their ability to forecast these two parameters is in some doubt.
