Our Wild Ride Turned Out To Be A Walk In The Park!
Despite all the prognostications of some wild weather with wind and rain, here in Wilton, Maine we had only four hundredths of an inch of rain and wind only in the range of 15 mph early yesterday evening. There is some very light rain falling now, but I am not sure if it will be enough to measure in the rain gauge. The sky is still overcast so there is a possibility of some more showers before the system moves on.
For today, the N.W.S. forecasts light scattered showers for the area, and the cloud cover forecast would support that (61%/69%/76%/72%). The NEXRAD regional radar still shows some significant rain south of us. That precipitation appears to be drying up as it reaches New Hampshire and Maine. The Weather Underground model forecast maps show the front moving off shore with the precipitation running along it. There are some showers that appear to hug the coastline, but very little, if any, in our area. Of course, Mother Nature can always have the last word, and she usually does.
My Weather Stick is frowning just a little at the 78% relative humidity. All three of my electronic instruments forecast rising barometric pressure today. Two of them are calling for fair skies today, while the remote weather station sees clouds in our future. I would like to believe the fair skies forecast, but I think that clouds will be the predominant feature of our weather today. I just do not see them moving off as quickly as the forecasters suggest.

The N,W.S. missed only the 20:00 hour forecast temperature. The rest were in the +/-5 degree limit that I allow for error. They did not have any of the relative humidity points correct or even close overnight. They will try again today. I wonder if they keep score on their forecast accuracy.
