We had one more burst of rain this morning leaving us with a total of 0.97 inches out of this storm system. Right now as noted above we are having large, puffy cumulus clouds moving through Wilton, Maine on the breath of a freshet from Canada. The sun is shining, the temperature has changed very little, and the wind is very active ranging as high as 14.3 mph. N.O.A.A. did get the predominant weather incorrect since we had that light scattered shower shortly after 05:00 hours when we were supposed to have no precipitation. Sorry, guys.
For today the N.W.S. forecasts no precipitation and static cloud cover (39%/43%/57%/43%). There are no echoes showing up on the NEXRAD regional radar. The Weather Underground model forecast maps show the storm pulling away from us today, and fair weather becoming the predominant feature there.
My Weather Stick is smiling just a little due to the 61% relative humidity. I think it should be smiling more, but when I first went out it was frowning a little. I think it is just taking a little time to catch up with the relative humidity. All three of my electronic instruments forecast rising barometric pressure, and indeed it has gone up overnight. Two of them call for fair skies. The remote weather station is calling for a mix of sun and clouds. I think that may be the closest to the truth, and we will see clouds moving through all day. It may clear late this afternoon, but I would not bet on it. Speaking of betting, how about those Red Sox?
