A Chilly Night.

With the clear sky it did not take long for the temperature to dip below freezing. If you had any tender vegetation outside it is not any more, because it is now frozen in all probability. It was a beautiful clear night. Just the kind of night when staying inside is just the order of the day. We all know what we can expect next. Halloween, of course. N.O.A.A. had the predominant weather as well as the temperature and humidity mostly correct overnight. Even the cloud cover appears to have been right.
Today the N.W.S. forecasts overcast developing (1%/22%/42%57%), but no precipitation. There are no echoes on the NEXRAD regional radar, and the Weather Underground model forecast maps indicate no storms until late tonight, and then only light scattered precipitation. I will not talk about what kind of precipitation, but with the temperatures, let your imagination run wild.
My Weather Stick is smiling just a little. I wonder if it knows what the Red Sox did last night? My electronic instruments do not appear to agree at all. My Weather Station forecasts fair skies with rising barometric pressure. My Min/Max Thermometer forecasts unsettled conditions with falling barometric pressure. My remote weather station forecasts unsettled conditions with rising barometric pressure. I think we will see a partly cloudy day with some cooler than normal temperatures, and some clouds moving through the skies of Wilton, Maine. I hate to suggest that overnight tonight we may see some snow, but it will be light and very scattered.
