The Chilly Night Followed By A Chilly Day!

N.O.A.A. had the predominant weather correct for today. This evening some clouds moved in and have become thicker and lower as the night has worn on. We did have a fair bit of wind during the day today, and that certainly helped to keep it cool around here. It is now just after midnight, and the temperature continues to fall despite the cloud cover.
For tonight, the N.W.S. forecasts no precipitation for the first half with light scattered snow showers for the second half. Yes I said and they predict snow showers. The NEXRAD radar is showing some frozen precipitation north of Millinocket. It does not look like it is serious, but it is there. The Weather Underground model forecast maps indicate that we may have some of the same here in Wilton, Maine between 03:00 and 06:00 hours this morning, but it should be out of here by 09:00 hours. The predicted cloud cover supports this (72%/65%/77%/61%)
My Weather Stick is smiling just a little, probably because I am foolishly still up at "0" dark thirty. It might also be because the relative humidity is at68%. My electronic instruments are all over the place. The Weather Station says partly cloudy with falling barometric pressure. My Min/Max Thermometer says foul weather with falling barometric pressure. Finally, the remote weather station says partly cloudy with falling barometric pressure. I think we may see some snow flurries with temperatures in the low to mid-twenties. It was nice while it lasted, but I think the warm weather is about done. By the way, the temperature now is the same as it was this morning when I did my morning report.

The N,W.S. forecast the temperature within five degrees at three of the four points today. The only one they missed was at 14:00 hours. They hit the 14:00 and 17:00 hour forecasts for the relative humidity. You get some right and some wrong, and that is what the N.W.S. did today.
Forecast data for the overnight.
