No Frost, Warm Temperatures
What a difference twenty-four hours can make. Where we were in the mid to upper twenties yesterday morning, we are in the upper forties this morning. The sky is overcast and the wind is out of the west southwest. N.O.A.A. seems to have gotten the predominant weather correct, and the cloud cover has certainly thickened and lowered overnight. We did have no precipitation overnight.
For today the N.W.S. forecasts our area to be on the edge of some light scattered showers early with more of those showers moving in after noon. Their estimate of the cloud cover would certainly support that forecast (80%/83%/85%/78%). There is a frontal system showing up on the NEXRAD regional radar stretching from the St. Lawrence River down into Pennsylvania. It does appear to be moving in our direction, but I am not sure if it will reach us. The Weather Underground model forecast maps show a chance for light, scattered showers for Maine, particularly Wilton for this afternoon, but they appear to be gone by this evening.
My Weather Stick is still frowning, but a deeper frown than last night due to the 85% relative humidity. All three of my electronic instruments forecast foul weather with falling barometric pressure. That pressure has indeed fallen since last night. Looking to my west there seems to be some haze, and either that is fog or some light rain moving in our direction. Only time will tell what is in store for us. I think we may well see some precipitation before the day is over. I will leave the analog rain gauge in place today to see if there is any correlation between it and the electronic rain gauge. I will take it in after today since the likelihood of ran from now until next May is minimal. It is about time to put the snow gauge out so that form of precipitation can be measured.

Comparative data for the overnight:
Temperature: 49°F/49.8°F//45°F/48.5°F//44°F/48.0°F//42°F/48.2°F
Relative Humidity: 63%/78%//76%/84%//82%/83%//89%/85%
The N.W.S. correctly forecast the temperature for the first three fourths of the overnight, but missed the forecast for the last data point. That miss was only by about 6°F, and that is not bad. They did miss the relative humidity forecast for the first half of the overnight, and were within 5% for the last two data points.
Forecast data for today:
Temperature: 44°F/53°F/57°F/54°F
Relative Humidity: 93%/69%/47%/52%
