The Snow/Sleet Has Stopped For Now.
N.O.A.A. had the predominant weather correct overnight since they did have snow followed by sleet or freezing rain. We did accumulate an additional 2 inches of snow during the early evening, and that remained the amount we had since the additional fell as sleet or freezing rain. It certainly seems to be warming up as well. Maybe the sun, wind and warmer temperatures will melt the last of the ice off my satellite dish and keep me connected to the internet.
For today the N.W.S. forecasts a start with light scattered snow showers ending and no precipitation for the remainder of the day. The cloud cover is also expected to decrease (100%/80%/59%/60%) allowing us to have a bit of sunshine. The NEXRAD regional radar shows some precipitation to our west, but it seems to be sliding off to our south. The Weather Underground model forecast maps also show the storm moving off shore and periods of sunshine breaking out.
The relative humidity is 88%, and that makes my Weather Stick frown. All three of my electronic instruments are indicating falling barometric pressure and foul weather, but I expect that to change as the storm system moves off. My La Cross Weather Station recorded a low temperature of 25.1°F, my Min/Max thermometer recorded 27.2°F and the remote weather station recorded 26.6°F. Maybe with the temperature rising as it is currently the last of the ice will be melted off the Wildblue satellite dish and wires so I will stay on-line until the next icicle forms from the roof. I think we will soon see our high temperature, and with the wind coming in from the northwest it will usher in some much colder air for later today. That will probably eclipse our current low for today.

The N.W.S forecasts for the temperature hit all four of the recorded temperatures. They did not do as well with the relative humidity since they hit only the 04:00 hour point recorded by my instrument. This was not one of their better outings. They need more practice I guess. Forecast data for today.
