Now, Here Comes The Cold!!

Ahh, The Results Of The Snowstorm
As usual we can expect some very cold arctic air to filter in over the next couple of days. N.O.A.A. had forecast light scattered snow showers all day, but here in Wilton, Maine we did not see any at this location. What we did see were some clouds of the high thin cirrus variety. There was some sunshine, and we did get just above freezing during the day.
For tonight the N.W.S. forecasts no precipitation, but moderate cloud cover (43%/58%/58%/39%). That will not allow quite as much radiational cooling as I would expect after a storm. As the clouds clear out it will get colder I am sure. The storm is completely gone from the NEXRAD regional composite radar. The same is true of the Weather Underground model forecast maps. There we can still see a system moving in for Friday.
My Weather Stick is straight in response to the 63% relative humidity. All three of the electronic instruments see the barometric pressure falling and stormy conditions overnight. We have had high temperatures of 32.9°F, 33.3°F and 27.7°F during the afternoon. I do not think we will see any more snow until sometime Friday, and from what the Weather Underground maps are showing it should be a doozy. Oh well, here we go again.

The N.W.S. had all four of the temperature forecasts and relative humidity forecasts correct today. I can say no more than Great Job to the people at the N.W.S.
