The weather this morning in a word was cold. Ike and I wasted no time getting back in the house after the usual morning constitutional. I did need to fill the Outdoor Wood Boiler though. It was so cold overnight that almost all the wood was burned and the temperature was down to 147°F from 180°F. It did not take long though for the temperature to recover. Even though the oil burner has run a few times this winter we have used less than 1/4 of a tank of oil in two years. It is certainly something to consider.
For today the N.W.S. forecasts no precipitation and disappearing cloud cover (28%/20%/11%/06%). It should be a pretty day, but quite a bit coder than it has been. There is nothing on either the radar or the Weather Underground model forecast maps for today or tomorrow. The clear weather will be cold however.
My Weather Stick continues to frown at the 82% relative humidity. It certainly does not make it feel any warmer. All three of my electronic instruments see the barometric pressure rising. The La Crosse Weather Station and Min/Max Thermometer see fair skies while the remote weather station sees unsettled weather. They recorded low temperatures overnight of 04.4°F, 07.4°F and 16.0°F. In anybody's book that would be cold, but it may not be as cold as we are going to get before this winter is over. That is the way it looks from here in Wilton, Maine today.
