And You Thought It Was Cold Last Night

Today N.O.A.A. forecast no precipitation with decreasing cloud cover, and they had that right. When the sun set this afternoon there were not enough clouds to give us a "pretty" sunset, but the sky did have a red glow. Further, it was already starting to get cold.
For the overnight the N.W.S predicts that we will have no precipitation, no clouds and no temperature. I thin that is what a temperature of zero means. At any rate if there was any heat imparted by the sun today it has already radiated back out into space. It is going to get, no let me rephrase that, it is cold and getting colder. By tomorrow morning we should be totally cloudless, not that we are not already. I just cannot tell the difference between 8% cloud cover and 0% cloud cover. I guess with 8% there is some dust in the atmosphere. There are no storms on the NEXRAD regional composite radar. The Weather Underground model forecast maps indicate that we will not see any precipitation until around noon on Friday, and that should last for about 12 hours. Maybe another foot of flurries.
My Weather Stick is frowning at 78% relative humidity, and I do not blame it. I would frown too if I were outside, but I would be afraid that my face would crack. All three of my electronic instruments forecast fair skies with rising barometric pressure. They recorded high temperatures today of 31.8°F, 24.7°F and 26.76°F. My guess is that there will be some frost on the doors and windows in the morning, and it will be cold. If your car is not totally winterized by now you may have a problem starting it in the morning. This may actually be a three dog night.

The N.W.S. did much better today than overnight. They were just a little off with the 13:00 hour forecast for the temperature. They did miss the 10:00 and 16:00 hour forecasts for the relative humidity. Still this is a much better attempt than they had overnight last night. I wonder if they can keep it going?
Forecast data for the overnight.
