The Clouds Rolled In, But Will They Stay?
Today N.O.A.A. called for light scattered snow showers all day. That was in response to the storm moving north, but it was too far out to sea to cause us any problem. The only thing we saw today were some cirrus clouds. With what we had yesterday we did not need another storm right on the heels of the last one. Before the next storm gets here I need to get some snow boards down by my snow gauge to give us a real starting point for the next storm. It did warm up to just above freezing today, and that made it very nice to be outside. In preparation for the arctic express we are supposed to have over the next couple of days I loaded my Outdoor Wood Boiler so I would not have to when the temperature is in the single numbers.
For the overnight the N.W.S. is continuing to call for light scattered snow showers for the entire period. The cloud cover at 64%, 74%, 69% and 64% would support that forecast. I am not so sure that those showers will get here. We are having one small flurry at 23:30 hours. I guess we will find out tomorrow morning if we have any significant activity by the amount of new snow on the ground because it will not be sleet or rain at these temperatures.
My Weather Stick is smiling just a little in response to the 70% relative humidity. All three of the electronic instruments forecast falling barometric pressure overnight. Two of them are calling for unsettled conditions while the remote weather station sees foul weather in our future. The high temperatures recorded today were 33.6°F, 31.3°F and 32.2°F. Once again the temperature in the barn lags behind the outside temperature. I really do not think we will see any significant snow out of these showers that we may or may not have overnight. We will find out in the morning. (°F):

For today the N.W.S. correctly forecast the temperature at 10:00, 13:00 and 16:00 hours, but they missed the07:00 hour point. They had all four relative humidity readings correctly forecast within 10%. This was a pretty good job of divination on their part.
